WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
CrossFit is a fitness program that by design is broad, general and inclusive. Our speciality is not specializing. It is developing the most well-rounded athlete with our unique training program that includes: weight lifting, power lifting, strength training, gymnastics, endurance, speed, agility, plyometrics, flexibility, coordination, and balance. These components make for a functional training program that will help you in everyday activities and achieve the results you are looking for.
No matter what your size, ability or background is, the self-defense classes at Endeavor will help you to build a physical ability to defend yourself and more importantly a psychological understanding of what it will take to do so. The program is based heavily on the system of Krav Maga, a hand-to-hand system originating in Israel. In addition to KM we teach elements of wrestling, boxing, thai boxing, grappling, and use of weapons. Our self-defense instructors will help you develop a defensive plan for you and your loved ones.
In a world where violence can appear at anytime, it’s up to you to take your safety into your own hands. We’re here to help you do just that. To support our self-defense classes, we also offer a full Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program as well as HitFit, our trademark fight conditioning classes weekly, and the opportunity to train defensive firearms monthly.
To begin your Endeavor, you will start with three personal training sessions with one of our coaches. Each of these sessions will be about 60 min.
In these sessions we will discuss your goals, asses your movement/mobility, and show you the fundamental techniques. The foundational movements we will focus on are the Squat, Press, and Hip Hinge series. For each of these series, we will take you through a couple variations and show how concepts and be applied to many different movements. Another large focus of these sessions is coaching you on how to properly stabilize your body through your breath and bracing. By breaking these basics down one-on-one, way we can move at your own pace and give you the tools to succeed in the group classes.
At the end of those three sessions, the coach will either clear you for group classes, or recommend more sessions if you need any additional work on a technique.
Fight Start Up
In these three sessions we will discuss your goals, asses your movement, and show you the fundamental techniques. Each of these hour sessions will have a different focus (Self Defense, BJJ, Striking/HitFit). This way we can move at your own pace and give you the tools to succeed in any of the group Fight classes.
At the end of those sessions, the coach will either clear you for group classes, or recommend another session if you need any additional work on a technique.
We can schedule these at your convenience, so please let us know what time works best in your schedule and we will get you in direct contact with the coach you will be working with
At Endeavor our staff is composed of professionals in all aspects of wellness and self protection. Our fitness staff holds certifications in CrossFit, movement, mobility, powerlifting, endurance, olympic weightlifting, kettlebells and more from CrossFit HQ, USAW, SMR and numerous others. Your fight instructors represent leaders in both the unarmed and armed defense industry, with certifications and high ranks in krav maga, kali, bjj, defensive firearms, trauma care and more. ABOVE ALL ELSE, our instructors are passionate in their field and dedicate their energy to continually being better TEACHERS and not just good practitioners. The certifications are only as good as the instructor behind them and we pride ourselves in holding a high standard for transferring that knowledge to our members.
Endeavor is the type of place that as soon as you walk in the door, you want everyone you know to join you there. I love the programming, the atmosphere, the community. I have grown as an athlete immensely since joining. There’s such a great energy here and with all the classes and programs included, you can’t beat the price! I have been a member with several different gyms in the Columbus area, but Endeavor is different. I was introduced to Crossfit and after my first workout I was hooked. It was great workout and interaction with other people, and while most finished before me, they all cheered me on and gave me a extra boost to finish.
