Several people have asked about taking fight classes when you normal do fitness classes and vice versa. Even more have NOT asked, because you just don’t know where to start and are nervous to inquire.
Endeavor offers a wide variety off classes not just to keep things exciting and help with adult ADHD but to also open up the ability to find the right program for you and to help supplement certain areas.
If your goal is to be a better competition fighter or just to defend yourself, strength and physical fitness play a big part in that. By incorporating CrossFit classes you will improve your ability as a fighter.
On the other side of things, if you predominantly do fitness, you often don’t realize the benefits of the fight programs in regards to your fitness goals. The fast paced interval style training that happens so often on the fight side helps to increase your work capacity during shorter explosive metcons. The balance and coordination developed in fight training carries over directly into gymnastics work and complex barbell work. Furthermore, the unilateral movements required on the fight side help to strength rotation muscles that are not commonly used in CrossFit. This allows for a more stable core/trunk and a better brace.
It is important to understand what your goals are and make sure what you do points directly to your goals, but there are so many great areas that can help you that you might miss out on.
So let’s talk about making the transition.
One of the shared programs between the two is HitFit. It is a great mixture of both. It is more weighted in the fight culture but also ties in KBs, DBs, Concept 2 Ergs, and more. It does not require high levels of technique in striking or high levels of technique in lifting. It’s a great place to get a bit of both worlds. When thinking about expanding, this is a GREAT option.
From there, if you have decided you want to make the jump and learn more about the fight programs, you only need to let us know. We will set you up with 3 personal training sessions with one of the head instructors. All 3 private sessions are only $100 (that’s 20% off) and can be scheduled at your convenience.
Once you have completed the sessions, adding both programs is just a $30 add on to your current membership. This will give you unlimited access to all of the classes offered on both sides of the wall.
If you’re interested at all in trying out either side, let us know and we would be happy to help you transition into either program.
